Alfred Felder – CEO

“As a leading supplier of component solutions we are shaping the future of light together with our customers. Our three pillars of LED/OLED light sources, electronic control gear and light management we are the right partner for electronic components and systems. We are facing up to the challenge presented by technological change and are looking for strategic partnerships with the aim of offering innovative solutions to our customers worldwide.

Our experts have in-depth know-how in all the different lighting applications. This enables us to work with our customers to choose the right lighting technologies and the best possible solutions.

In view of the change in technology from conventional to LED light it is essential to make efficient use of this know-how and to exploit the technological possibilities for lighting applications of the future. For us, the main focus here is on the light sources and the light management systems which are based more and more on sophisticated software. Tridonic sees itself as a partner for systems comprising electronic components and semiconductor light sources and for added-value services for the benefit of our customers.

This approach has already brought us success with our LED converters and LED modules which we have developed specifically for our core business in general illumination. The proportion of our sales due to LED products continues to show vigorous growth. We are currently involved in the successful launch of our new generation of LED converters. The three TALEXXconverter series, ECO, TOP and TEC, are impressing our customers as a clearly structured portfolio that meets all requirements. At the same time, we have pulled out of old magnetic ballast technology and are now concentrating our resources on new technologies.”

“The Finance division as an integral part of the company is responsible for securing a solid financial basis and has considerable influence over the distribution of the limited resources. Its task is to take an active role in strategic decision-making regarding the alignment of the company and support decision-making processe for optimising performance.

Solid results
The figures provide ample proof of the business success of Tridonic. In the 2013/14 fiscal year 1,970 employees produced sales totalling 384.5 million euros, compared to 377.7 million euros in the previous year. We have achieved this even with a 65 percent increase in LED products. We were particularly successful with the new LED converter portfolio. Together with extremely pleasing developments in our LED light sources business, we have been able to offset the decline in conventional technologies thanks to LEDs. Adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT margin) last year showed a solid increase to 6.5 percent compared with 3.6 percent the previous year. This trend has continued in the first quarter of the current fiscal year with an adjusted EBIT margin of 7.8 percent. In the first quarter the LED share of total sales was 47 percent.”
